The Basics :
Generally the vast majority of Notary work is quite straightorward.
You sign your document/s before me, I notarise your document/s
confirming that you have signed before me and how I identified
you. I also notarise a copy of your ID, usually your Passport,
to go with your document/s.
Where it is a single pre prepared document (one you bring in)
I charge £60, which you can pay either by online transfer or by
cash, on my handover of your document/s.
Where your document involves a sale of land or property,
or anything money related (eg opening a Bank Account)
I have to do an Anti Money Laundering check on you and
save these searches to my file, including a copy of your
document/s and ID used.
Record keeping is just much stricter now !
As to legal advice concerning your document/s, until recently
I would have advised you myself, but with changing regulations
affectng the Notary profession, I can no longer do this, and you
are required to carry out your own checks before you come to
me for notarisation.
